Why We Built This Site
North Carolina gives the public broad access to many government records, while court files still depend on case type, court level, and confidentiality rules. The hard part is figuring out which Cumberland County office holds the file you want. The Clerk of Superior Court handles Superior Court, District Court, estates, special proceedings, divorce judgments, and certified court-copy requests. The Register of Deeds handles marriage records and vital-record copy channels. The Sheriff's Office manages jail, warrant, and law-enforcement record contacts. Statewide services such as the NC eCourts Portal, NC DAC offender searches, NC SAVAN, and NC DMV add more paths.

Only the issuing court or government office can provide a certified copy with an official seal. We can point you to the right office, but the document has to come from them.
